Butter is essentially just milk fat, containing lactose only in traces, so the moderate consumption of butter should not be a problem for lactose intolerant babies. Butter is a source of calories, fat, sodium and vitamin A.
Why Can Babies Have Yogurt But Not Milk ?
Some yogurts, such as Activia from the Groupe Danone contain probiotics assisting digestion, bringing relief to those who suffer from diarrhea, and lactose intolerance. Yogurt is made by fermentation, so its protein can be much more easily digested by babies’ tummies than proteins in cow’s milk. Pediatricians usually recommend serving Greek Yogurt to babies of the age 8 – 10 months.
Milk Rice Recipe for Toddlers
Ingredients: ¼ cup of cooked rice, 2 tbsp boiled milk, 2 tsp sugar, a pinch of salt, ¼ tsp ghee.
Cook the rice in a pot, cool it down and mash it. Put the mashed rice into a mixing bowl, add the warm milk, sugar and the pinch of salt. Mix everything well, adding more milk if needed. Add the ghee and stir well.
