About Can Babies Eat
Can Babies Eat is the shared work of a small group: paediatricians, nutritionists and web developers, all pulling in the same direction.
We built it for one moment in particular. A parent standing in the kitchen early in the morning, holding a jar of something in one hand and a hungry baby in the other, should be able to get a clear and honest answer in seconds, rather than wading through forums and half-remembered advice.
How the site is made
The clinical side of the team decides what is safe and from what age. The nutrition side works out how a food actually helps a growing baby, or why it does not. The developers make the whole thing quick to search and easy to read on a phone at 6am. Every page follows the same shape: the short answer first, then the age, the safety notes and how to serve it.
Where a claim matters, we cite the bodies that set the guidance, including the NHS, the FDA, the WHO, the AAP and the USDA, so you can check it for yourself. None of this replaces your own doctor or health visitor, who know your baby in a way a website never can.
Found something wrong, or a food we have missed? Get in touch. We would genuinely rather hear about it.
