Can Babies Eat Apricots?

Apricots are the fruits of trees bearing the same name. According to archaeological studies, the origin of the apricot is in Armenia, but botanists say that the domestication of the apricot would have taken place in the Chinese region.

Apricots are very nutritious and low in calories. They contain carbs, protein, fibers, iron, potassium, vitamins A, C and E.

Babies can eat both fresh and dried apricots starting at the age of six months. Due to the fact that apricots have fine skin, it is not necessary to peel them or to cook them in advance, but if your baby showed signs of tummy troubles before and is under eight months of age, it is recommended for you to peel or cook them. Some babies can develop adverse reactions to apricots like abdominal pain, vomiting, especially those, who have allergy to peaches, due to the similarities between the allergens in apricots and peaches.
