Guacamole or guac in an avocado- based dip, spread or salad originating from Mexico. Although it was first known in Mexican cuisine, guacamole became part of the international cuisine as well, not only as a dip, but also as a condiment and a salad ingredient.

The more diverse vegetables is your baby used to, the more you can pimp up the guacamole with different extra ingredients, to make it more enjoyable for your baby. You can start giving guacamole to your baby starting at the age of 6 months.

Easy Child-Friendly Guacamole

Ingredients: 1 small red onion, clove garlic, 1 tsp vegetable oil, 12 small cherry tomatoes, 2 large avocados, 1 lime, a pinch of smoked paprika, salt and pepper to your taste.

Peel and finely chop the red onion and crush the garlic. Heat the oil in a frying pan, put the onions and gently fry for 5 minutes, until they are soft, and put the garlic and fry for 2 more minutes. Remove from the heat and let it cool down completely. Chop the cherry tomatoes. Mix the onion, garlic and the tomatoes. Split the avocados and remove their stones. Using a spoon, scoop out the flesh of the avocados and put them into the bowl along the previous mixture. Cut the lime into 2 pieces, and squeeze the juice from one half over the mixture. Mash all the ingredients together with a fork or a potato masher. Add a pinch of smoked paprika and season the mixture with salt and pepper.
